We all have those things that we can’t live without. Whether it’s your toothbrush, snack size Twix, or that ridiculously fluffy blanket, it just doesn’t seem like a normal day unless we’ve interacted with one of these items.
I was convinced that I would never own Apple products because they were too popular and everyone saw it as a status symbol. I have to eat my words because I have an iPhone and the MacBook. I got my MacBook from my cousin for a bargain price because he’d bought the new version, so this massive hunk of technology is my baby.
I completely understand why people rave about Apple products – I’d be lost without mine. My iPhone has all my social media apps, my nerd games and travel apps that I can’t function without, and my MacBook syncs everything so I have it all at my fingertips.
I’m currently saving so I can upgrade it, it’s just getting a bit old!
I have to be honest, I don’t use my FitBit to track my activity; I use it for the time and date while I’m at work. BUT with lockdown in full swing, I’ve started the Couch to 5k program. My FitBit tells me how unfit I am by syncing my heartbeat, and also telling me that I’m a terrible sleeper.
I’m an English and Creative Writing graduate so I always have to have a notebook with me to note down whatever crazy thought pops into my mind.
I started bullet journaling in 2018 and I will never stop. I have 4 journals and I’m really running out of pages! My favourite journal is the Scribbles That Matter journal and I’ve had 3 now. I won’t even try another brand because it has everything I need. I honestly can’t live without my bullet journal now – it’s my escape from the world and has all my notes in one place.
For someone who has so many products, my skincare routine isn’t very good.
I get hyperpigmentation when I get spots (and my skin is going crazy during lockdown!) so I scar quite easily. I have lotions and potions for everything – micellar water, face masks, eye cream, night cream, face rollers, spot creams… but I’m still the girl that will go to bed without washing her face.
I recently got 2 of the BIGGEST spots on my cheek and it’s so hard not to pick it (who else is a picker?) and I have been using all my spot treatments to get rid of them. No luck so far but I recently bought a Glossybox* with some potentially amazing products so fingers crossed for that!
Ok, I know this sounds silly, but Instagram has truly been something that I can’t live without in this lockdown. I have a personal account as well as a blog account so I can follow all the dogs/nails/house accounts on my personal account while keeping my blog profile separate.
If you didn’t know, I also co-founded West Midlands Creatives with Leah Higgins so my life is kept busy with that. I’ve been planning all sorts behind the scenes and I’m so excited to get past lockdown and really connect the creatives in the West Midlands. There are some amazing people in Birmingham, but we want to expand the circle.
What about you? What can’t you live without at the moment, especially with lockdown?
